Hi, my name is Brianna. I am 16 years old and have been playing the flute for 6 years. I am now a sophomore in high school participating in the schools honor band.
I remember it all started in 5th grade when we learned to play recorders in music class. I was so excited to get the "black belt" in recorder karate, and I would practice everyday. Through this I learned to read music and asked my 5th grade teacher to give me flute lessons in exchange for after school help. Lucky for me she agreed. Now I am in 10th grade and I still get that thrill every time we start on a new piece of music. I have had many amazing musical opportunities since then, starting in 6th grade when I got the the opportunity to play in a world premiere for Tyler S. Grant. Once I got into middle school it was a whole new ballgame musically when we got to compete. with that I ended up participating in both All-county band and All-district band in 7th and 8th grade. All- county and all-district are honor bands outside of the school that students must audition for.
Ever since I was little I have always been infatuated with music and my passion has only increased with age. I absolutely feel alive when playing. Recently I was brainstorming on ways I can give back to my community and thought, it would be amazing to provide a resource for others to embrace music as well. Whether it is because Lessons are not affordable or the resource is not available in the area I am here to help. Although I have never taught before I strive to be as patient and understanding as possible. I think that the best way for someone to learn is to have someone you can relate to who will take the time to understand and get to know you. I have had multiple professors throughout my band experience, which have all taught me different teaching styles. I hope that I can be the one for you to help start a new musical chapter in your lives.
